If I were to pick up a new phone in the next couple weeks, would it be wise to switch to a SoCal number? I’ve had my Wisconsin (area code 920) number for well over five years, but hanging onto my hometown number makes it seem as though I’m not committing to LA, or the industry.

Is this true, or am I just creating a problem in my head? What about when/if I go out to New York? Will I have to switch to a NYC area code, or is an LA area code badass?
